About
Since 1948, Shell has had a close business relationship with Kuwait that has developed into an enhanced partnership over the years, with cooperation initiatives locally and internationally across the whole oil and gas value chain.
Working with our partners at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries, Shell has been a reliable partner in technology transfer and capacity building by delivering a wide range of technical expertise and knowledge to help Kuwait make the most of its oil and gas resources. From those early days Shell’s business with Kuwait developed to include exploration, oil trading, lubricants, technical services and chemicals sales.
In 2010, Shell and Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) entered a new phase of our partnership with the signing of an Enhanced Technical Services Agreement (ETSA) to jointly develop the challenging Jurassic Gas fields in Northern Kuwait. Under the agreement, Shell pledges to transfer its leading world class knowledge, technological innovation and best business practices to our Kuwaiti partners. The ETSA agreement is considered a model that is novel and unique in the industry.
Shell has other business and growth. Currently Shell has other Upstream Opportunities in Kuwait across the whole technical spectrum, including subsurface, drilling operations, facilities design, project services, production operation, HSSE, Learning and Development. Shell also has several Memorandums of Understanding with KPC to jointly develop new business opportunities locally and globally, including the supply of liquefied natural gas to efficiently meet the country’s rising energy demands and provide energy to millions of people in Kuwait.
