The American Chamber of Commerce in Kuwait (ABCK‑AmCham Kuwait) is a non-profit business association that supports U.S.–Kuwait trade and investment. Our programs include high-level roundtables, networking events, advocacy initiatives, and member services.
Role Overview
The Communications & Events Intern supports the team across member media, events, meetings, and CRM data quality. This is a hands-on learning role ideal for an organized, proactive student with strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

Job title: Intern for Communications and Events
Reports to: Executive Director (ED)
Working location: in-person
Normal working days and hours: part-time or full-time, between Sunday and Thursday, three (3) times a week (Part-time), 5 times a week (Full-time), 15-25 hours a week, with some nights and weekends required (as per the intern’s availability).
Provided by AmCham Kuwait:
- Mentorship, on-the-job training, and a completion certificate/recommendation.
- Academic credit can be supported if approved by the intern’s university.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Member Media & Content
- Capture short videos of members (smartphone or camera), coordinate simple shoot schedules, and organize files and releases.
- Assist with light editing (e.g., trimming, captions, thumbnails) and content handoff to the communications team.
Event Support
- Help set up and run events (registration desk, guest welcome, name badges, seating cards, VIP support).
- Coordinate collection/placement of sponsor banners and collateral; assist with tear‑down and materials return.
- Support post-event wrap-up (photos collation, attendance lists, basic reports).
Meetings & Administration
- Participate in internal/external meetings; prepare agendas, take concise notes, and track action items.
- Draft simple confirmation emails/messages and follow up with members, speakers, and partners as needed.
CRM & Data Integrity (Glue Up)
- Organize business cards and enter/update contacts in Glue Up, ensuring accurate names, titles, companies, and tags.
- Maintain up-to-date member and sponsor records; help de-duplicate and improve data quality.
Sponsor Coordination (with Secretary’s Support)
- Liaise with sponsors to collect banners, logos, and other required materials on time and to spec.
- Track deliveries/pickups and ensure proper branding placement at events.
General Office Support
- Assist with printing, packing event kits, inventorying banners/roll-ups, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current university student or recent graduate.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; professional email/phone etiquette.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Positive team attitude and willingness to learn; able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRMs (Glue Up) and basic video tools (e.g., Canva/CapCut/Adobe Rush) is an advantage.
- Flexibility to support occasional evening events.
